I misspelled my own brother’s name in my last post! its actually Shreyans! I’m sorry Shreyans!!!

It’s good to be back here..although that has come at a price. My brother Sheryans’
short vacation with us is over and he’s on his way back to the States. Needless to say, I will miss him. He’s one hell of a tough taskmaster but it’s all for my good and I can’t thank him enough for all his help.

We had some good time’s. I mean in between the fighting like 5 year olds with better vocabulary and the ridiculous arguments over whose music will play in the car, we do have fun. Like he said, if our conversations were ever taped and if people actually ever saw them, we couldn’t blame them for thinking we were retarded 🙂

Will miss that…and so will

Ah well…C’est la vie

Esprit de l’escalier

Esprit de l’escalier is a wonderful new expression I’ve learned today. It means “staircase wit” which “refers to that infuriating situation in which you leave a drawing room and are halfway down the stairs before you suddenly think of that devastatingly witty comment you could have made. More generally, it’s any sparkling remark you wish you had thought of at the time but were too slow-witted to produce.” (Michael Quinion)
Isn’t it an amazing little expression? Who hasn’t had that feeling at some point in their lives? Happens to me often enough that this expression feels like it was intended for me:).

So i’m off to Singapore for a few days…my brother is gonna meet us there before we all head back here. Gonna be seeing him after a long time and I can’t wait. I’ve missed him alot.

Anyway..ciao y’all.

PS. To all the plastic cover people, my comments weren’t derogatory in nature. Hope you all understand.

For anybody that is interested to know..Zahen is an urdu word which means acumen/wit/sagacity/understanding. The correct spelling is zehn but it’s pronounced zahen so I guess either spelling should be fine.Btw..the name’s actually Shipra.

Now i’m just gonna use this space to vent a little bit. I had lent some of my favourite DVDs to someone because I’m not the type of person that has a problem with sharing. But i’m beginning to understand the people who put plastic covers on their books and warn people not fold pages (i’m sure we’ve all met one of those people..they grow up to be the type who put plastic covers on their sofas) and the people who are over-protective of their possessions. These DVDs mean alot to me. And they’ve all come back ruined. My computer refuses to recognise them. It makes me wanna smash things!! AAARRRRGGGGHHH!!!!

Terry’s words of wisdom for the day:

“Give a man a fire and he’s warm for a day, but set fire to him and he’s warm for the rest of his life.”

Main Hoon Na

Just got back from the movies. The thing with hindi movies…the main stream masala that you need to suspend reality while watching them. Get lost in the world on screen and just let yourself be entertained.Main Hoon Na was like that. Entertaining. Fluff. But very entertaining. I’ve been smiling for the past 4 hours 🙂
Although the REAL reason behind that has to be Shah Rukh Khan. Seeing him on screen makes me smile like an idiot.
Now, I’ve seen him in person..I’ve met him. And I felt nothing. I was the opposite of starstruck (whatever that was similar to boredom). But when I see him on screen, its like a 13 year old at an N’Sync concert. I’m embarassed to admit it but its something that can’t be denied anymore. Anything that can make you that happy without entering your bloodstream, altering states of perception and feeling or adding calories can’t be bad:)

The movie did make me think about something though.Loyalty.Unwavering and unconditional. Will wax on about that later. When I’m less giddy:)

Meanwhile..a parting thought:

There are, it has been said, two types of people in the world. There are those who, when presented with a glass that is exactly half full, say: this glass is half full. And then there are those who say: this glass is half empty. The world belongs, however, to those who can look at the glass and say: What’s up with this glass? Excuse me? Excuse me? This is my glass? I don’t think so. My glass was full! And it was a bigger glass!

Googlemania takes over: Check out what Google thinks of you, your friends or anything at
Quite a good laugh…I especially liked what Google had to say about my brother Shreyans. “Shreyans is a pioneer to utilize black liquor from wheat straw in fluidized bed recovery plant”. The secrets that boy has!!! I’d never have known this about him if it wasn’t for Google! Thank you Google for bringing us closer!

People..I have to say this. I’ve been doing some practice GMAT tests..and my score has improved considerably.120 points higher. Although I have a sneaky suspicion that those were meant to be easy tests. Nah…lets all just believe that I’ve improved 🙂

Most people wont understand what i’m about to say next. I’M GOING TO WATCH MAIN HOON NA TONIGHT!!! Oh Joy!!!
